Microsoft Access Level 1 Training Course

Duration : 1 day

Objectives
 

This course provides an introduction to the basic concepts of Microsoft Access. On completion of this course, the delegate will be able to use an existing Access Database effectively and be able to create and modify simple Tables, Queries, Forms and Reports. This course provides a foundation for the Access Level 2 course which is recommended for anyone planning to design and create any but the simplest database.

Designed for

This course is suitable for delegates who wish to learn to use databases effectively and to create simple databases for single-user use. No previous knowledge of Access is assumed, but delegates should be familiar with using one or more of the other programs in the Microsoft Office suite.

Description

The course covers the essential skills required to create and manage a simple database, and introduces the concepts of good database design. It deals with creating and using Tables and their Relationships, Queries, Forms and Reports and shows how these can be combined into a simple but effective application. This course provides the necessary knowledge to design and build a straightforward but functional database. On completion of the course, delegates will understand how to create a normalised relational design and be able to create and amend queries, forms and reports that go beyond the simple objects created by the Access Wizards. The material covered in this course provides a foundation for the Access Level 3 course.

This course is suitable for delegates who are familiar with using a Microsoft Access database but wish to extend their ability to design and build straightforward databases. An understanding of the material covered in the Level 1 course is an essential prerequisite for this course.

An understanding of the material covered in the Level 1 and Level 2 courses is an essential prerequisite for this course.

Description

The course covers some more advanced aspects of Table and Form design as well as Parameter and Action Queries, SQL and multi-column Reports. It also deals with Linked databases, Start Up options and a number of features that facilitate the management of more advanced databases. It introduces the concepts of macros and their use for automating and controlling many processes.
